We are looking for a Coatings Technical Authority Manager/Lead Paint Manager to join our Devonport team on a permanent basis. You will provide Leadership and Management of the Painting Division to meet the contracted requirements for painting, blasting and resource allocation.
How You Will Make An Impact
- You will be accountable for developing compliance sheets and corresponding RAM and keeping updated on all new legislation and HSE guidelines and ensure that any safety legislation is cascaded down through the workforce.
- Ensuring that all employees are aware of the high safety standards that are required by KAEFER and the client with regards to working on site
- Attend FTSG/Upkeep planning pre-start meetings, contributing to planning schedule and have responsibility for planning and monitoring Blast and Paint equipment inventory (Asset Register).
- Ensuring the client is satisfied with contracted blasting and painting evolutions with a view to developing lasting relationships and looking for new business opportunities.
- Assist the Operation Managers with the planning, resources and equipment requirements/allocation for remedial works after project closure.
- Troubleshooting technical problems that may affect the quality of the final product and liaise with relevant Operation Managers for its resolution by providing the necessary guidance, equipment and resource to ensure client satisfaction.
- Be the owner of the Blast and Paint Division Training Matrix – the maintenance of competency and capability of staff.
- Instruct and guide employees relative to the safe use of tools, materials and equipment as necessary, to prepare and carry out work packages as required.
- Monitor employee attendance and timekeeping to allow accurate and timely completion of payroll information.
- Review tender documentation for own specialism, coordinating with the other discipline Lead Managers and Commercial.
- Assist with the estimation of works by liaising with the Commercial Team to resolve their queries, calculating work, including estimates and pre-measures.
What You Will Bring
- Knowledge of QA, OC and inspection and document control
- Knowledge of equipment control, calibration and corrosion
- Knowledge of control and testing of blasting abrasives
- Knowledge of contamination testing, paint formulation, coating systems, paint manufacture and paint/paint film testing
- Knowledge of hygrometers, application of metal coatings, coating faults, paint colours – coding systems
- Knowledge of cathodic protection and IMO requirements
- Experience in a leadership or management role
- Experience of working within the Marine or Industrial Services industries would be beneficial
