We are looking for a Senior HSE Advisor to join our HSE team and HPC on a permanent basis. As Senior HSE Advisor, you will be responsible for the provision of timely advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to Health, Safety and the Environment with respect to Legislation, Company Policies and Client requirements. You will support a team of Advisors to assist in the delivery of the KAEFER UK & Ireland HSE strategy.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Advise and assist site management in the preparation of safety and environmental plans, risk assessments and method statements for varying projects in line with company and client KPIs
  • Providing authoritative guidance on Health & Safety matters to all stakeholders
  • Ensure the site and applicable Management are aware of applicable legal obligations and notified of changes in legal process.
  • Work with on site management in the development, delivery, implementation and maintenance of HSE policy and procedures
  • Retain a strong and influence presence on site daily
  • Support the HSE manager and construction managers with delivery of: Safe Start and Hazard Surveys
  • Prepare safety and environmental reports as required
  • Conduct safety and environmental audit and inspections in accordance with the Integrated
  • Management System (IMS), record data for trend analysis into the Kaefer site management team
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports to HSEQ and Divisional Directors.
  • Conduct loss event investigations and prepare reports for internal and external purposes
  • Provide HSE advise and direction to on site management, staff and contractors
  • Assist site management in the periodic preparation and presentation of seminars/training for clients, own employees and other interested stakeholders
  • Owner of site specific HSE documents, responsible for improvement and maintenance in collaboration with client, HSE Discipline Manager HSEQ Director
  • Liaise with Health & Safety stewards on a regular basis ensuring consultation and participation of workforce. 
  • Lead in promotion of Health, Wellbeing initiatives within region.
  • Drive behavioural culture change programs and encourage reduced risk type behaviours with site activities
  • Manage relationship with client’s HSE teams
  • Be able and efficient in managing own workload and timescales to meet client and KAEFER requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach with strict adherence to deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent information sharing ability and able to adapt to audience
  • Can demonstrate strong knowledge of HSE law
  • Can demonstrate experience in construction/heavy industry
  • Advanced level of understanding and knowledge of HSE legislation and codes of practice.
  • Can demonstrate excellent knowledge in hazard assessment and risk reduction methods.
  • Significant hands-on experience in a safety related role
  • Experience of dealing with HSE systems, processes and identifying training needs
  • NEBOSH Health & Safety Certificate and/or Diploma
  • Environmental Qualification  
  • Member of IOSH (Certified or equivalent)
  • Ability to travel. Kaefer sites are both UK and Ireland based and therefore travel to Client offices and Sites will be undertaken to support the HSE visibility, business development and HSE delivery.
