We are looking for a HSE Manager to join our team at HPC on a permanent basis. Safety, Health and Environmental protection have the highest priority at KAEFER UK&I.
The purpose of the role is to provide and manage the Health and Safety function at HPC ensuring all are fully compliant with HSE regulations and company processes. In doing so, the HSE Manager’s purpose is a pro-active and effective approach to HSE.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Advise and assist Site Management in the preparation of safety and environmental plans, risk assessments and method statements for a large multi-disciplined contract and varying standalone projects in line with company and client KPIs
- Provide authoritative guidance on Health & Safety matters to all stakeholders
- Develop HSE Strategy for site alongside Head of HSE and General Manager, reporting weekly and monthly on progress
- Ensure the site and Operational Management Team are aware of applicable legal obligations and notified of changes in legal process
- Work with Site Management in the development, delivery, implementation and maintenance of HSE policy and procedures such as the KAEFER Safe Start and Hazard Survey processes
- Prepare Safety and Environmental reports as required
- Conduct Safety and Environmental audit and inspections in accordance with the Integrated Management System (IMS) and communicate opportunities for improvement to KAEFER management and other project partners
- Produce HSE statistical and analytical reports for circulation to local and Group Management in a timely manner as required by the business
- Prepare daily and weekly reports to Head of HSE and Business Unit General Manager
- Conduct loss event investigations and prepare reports for internal and external purposes
- Provide HSE advice and direction to Site Management, staff and contractors and encourage a challenging type behaviour wherever possible
- Assist Site Management in the periodic preparation and presentation of seminars/training for clients, own employees and other interested stakeholders
- Act as owner of site specific HSE and compliance documents, responsible for improvement and maintenance in collaboration with client, General Manager and Head of HSE
- Liaise with Health & Safety Representatives on a regular basis ensuring consultation and participation of workforce
- Lead, mentor & manage HSE team on site and drive Health and Wellbeing initiatives
What You Will Bring
- Good knowledge in HSE compliance and HSE regulations
- Demonstrable strong knowledge in HSE law
- Significant operational HSE experience
- Experience of HSE in a heavy industry, contract environment
- NEBOSH Health and Safety Certificate/Diploma or equivalent
- NEBOSH Environmental Certificate
- CMIOSH or working towards
